The Vice-Chancellor (VC) Cup is Tribhuvan University’s flagship multi-sport university competition, designed to promote sports excellence, student participation, and talent identification across its constituent and affiliated campuses. The VC Cup embodies TU’s commitment to integrating sports, education, and student welfare, while aligning with national and international university sports standards.

Objectives of the VC Cup

  1. To promote mass participation in sports and physical activities among university students

  2. To identify and nurture sporting talent at campus, provincial, and central levels

  3. To create a structured pathway for students to progress from university sports to national and international competitions

  4. To support the development of elite student-athletes alongside academic excellence

  5. To align university sports with national sports development policies and FISU principles


Sports Disciplines

The VC Cup includes almost all major games and sports, such as:

  1. Athletics

  2. Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball

  3. Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis

  4. Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, Wrestling

  5. Weightlifting and other recognized disciplines

Competition Structure

To ensure inclusiveness, competitiveness, and systematic talent development, the VC Cup is conducted through a multi-tier structure:
