About FISU (International University Sports Federation)

The International University Sports Federation, "Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU)",  is the global governing body for university sports, dedicated to promoting sports excellence, education, cultural exchange, and international friendship among student-athletes. Established in 1949, FISU organizes the world’s largest multi-sport events for university students, including the prestigious Summer and Winter World University Games, University World Championships, and numerous educational programs that strengthen leadership and sports development at the university level.

FISU collaborates with national university sports federations from over 170 countries, offering young athletes an international platform to showcase their sporting talents, gain global exposure, and develop holistically through the spirit of fair play, respect, and academic-athletic balance.

Participation of Tribhuvan University (TU) Students in FISU Events

Tribhuvan University has actively encouraged its students to participate in various FISU activities as part of its commitment to fostering international-standard sportsmanship and global engagement. TU student-athletes have represented Nepal in multiple sporting disciplines through the Nepal University Sports Association (NUSA), established in Tribhuvan University, which is the officially recognized national body affiliated with FISU.
